FREE Event - How to Make Money from Recorded Music - 09/09/10

The speakers will look at revenue streams from music including tracks licensed for film, TV, advertising and computer games

Additional Information

With sales of physical product (CDs and records) starting to dry up, record labels and publishers are looking at new ways to derive income from the music they own. I-tunes and the other content providers are partly replacing the lost income from physical sales, but this revenue appears only to be making-up for a fraction of lost earnings. Labels and publishers are now relying more and more, on income derived from music synchronization – music licensed for use in film, TV, advertising and computer games. Our speakers will look at an array of revenue streams, which can be derived from recorded music.

Our two guest speakers run three separate music companies, between them, and work together in area of music synchronization.

Melodic Records has released music by The Longcut, Nine Black Alps andThe Earlies, to name but a few. In 2007 David set up a label management arm to represent and promote labels from The U.S. and Europe. He is now pushing forward with plans to set-up a music publishing company.
